Journalism

I have been a professional journalist since 2007. I was a staff journalist at New Scientist until 2014, and then an editor at BBC Earth until 2017, after which I went freelance.

I mostly write about life sciences and the environment. That means everything from zoology and evolutionary biology, through earth sciences to climate change and biodiversity, with a smattering of neuroscience and psychology.

My work has been published by the following outlets:

  • BBC Earth
  • BBC Future
  • Forbes - see my author page
  • Guardian - see my author page
  • National Geographic
  • Nature
  • New Scientist - see my author page
  • Scientific American - see my author page
  • Spectrum - see my author page
  • The Telegraph
